Hobo Hammocks started back in 2015, “when a friend and I decided to live homeless by choice. It was the summer between our 1st and 2nd year of dental school, we were on campus most of the day studying for boards, and we wanted to take a trip to Thailand after passing our board exams. To justify this trip expense, we decided to move out of our apartment and live out of our hammocks. From softball fields to playgrounds, we never knew where ‘home’ would be each night, but I learned a lot about hammock camping and about the homeless and it inspired me to create Hobo Hammocks. I donate a home-cooked meal to the homeless at Rescue Mission of Salt Lake for every hammock sold.”
